Dear GEP Stakeholders,
124 Main Street (Head Office) is undergoing maintenance and therefore all our staff areworking from home and GEP staff will therefore be back in office on Monday
We are pleased to announce that the backup power generator has been restored at 124 Main Street Building. This will serve as an uninterrupted power supply source during power outages. As a result, the GEP Head Office and Johannesburg Regional Office will be reopened from Thursday, 14 March 2024, and will be operating as normal.
Thank you for your patience and understanding during this time.
Kindly note that GEP is currently experiencing challenges with the backup power generator at 124 Main Street Building, to ensure the safety and well-being of staff and the public, the building has been evacuated. As a result, the Head Office and Johannesburg Regional Offices will be temporarily closed. These offices will be unable to receive walk-ins as well as direct calls while this attended to.

Motlatjo Moholwa is an experienced Economist and Strategist with a wealth of experience in Economic Research, Policy Development & Analysis, and Strategy Design & Execution as well an extensive and functional network in academia, private sector and government. He lectured Economics, conducted economic research and supervised graduate students at the university level. Motlatjo was Director (Economic Research) at the Department of Trade & Industry, Chief Economist at the City of Johannesburg, Lead Economist at the Land Bank of South Africa, and Deputy Director-General (Economic Planning) at the Mpumalanga Department of Economic Development & Tourism. He is currently Deputy Director-General (Economic Planning) at the Gauteng Department of Economic Development and Acting Chief Executive Officer at the Gauteng Enterprise Propeller. He holds MSc. from Michigan State University (MSU), MCom from University of Johannesburg (UJ), MBA from Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS), and BSc.Hons from University of Limpopo (UL). He also acquired a series of short-course certificates covering Leadership, Project Management, Scenario Planning, Trade & Industrial Development and Investment Analysis & Portfolio Management.
